psyk s non series label keep sup a busy 2018 with a new ep from pris. he s an artist with a deep heady techno sound that has previously found a home on the esteemed likes of semantica, avian and his own resin and now serves up four more of his serene and stylish tracks.

donor, the brooklyn-based artist, known for his releases on stroboscopic artefacts, semantica and prosthetic pressings, steps up on sublunar with a brand new ep. the record consists of three original cuts plus a remix from the key figure in the legendary no way back parties and the bunker ny resident patrick russell.

echocord’s colour sub-label returns early june with a four- track ep from eindhoven’s albert van abbe in the shape of ‘klangbilder’. dutch techno artist albert van abbe has nearly two decades of experience under his belt in various forms of musical and visual expression, releasing on his own vanabbe imprint, figure jams, semantica and no comment, as well as playing live and djing at hot spots across the globe such as berghain, tresor, dgtl and awakenings festival. ‘klangbilder 1’ leads with a robust rhythmic drive, employing bumpy toms, shuffled hats and lumpy kicks at its core as vacillating synths, tension building drones and menacing pizzicato strings develop throughout. ‘klangbilder 2’ takes things deeper next, retaining the dusty drums sound of the previous cut whilst stirring in airy ethereal pads and choppy, resonant stab sequences. ‘klangbilder 3’ kicks off the b-side with modulating synth whirrs, emotive organ tones and a muted drum tones throughout before ‘klangbilder 4’ closes the package, taking things beatless and cinematic via emotive synth leads, droning subs and expansive echoes.

sublunar, the record label founded by sciahri and dagdrom last year starts his 2018 with a brand new ep from the berlin based artist refracted, known for his releases on semantica, pole group, silent season and mind express. this 12” perfectly represent how his style has been crafted during these years, a balanced mixture between his incredible ear for detail, tunnelling trips and tougher beats.

helrad limited is a scottish-based electronic dance label and has been created by helrad for releasing underground techno tracks. the pivotal aim is to provide and focus the efforts on selecting top quality pieces of production. the first release is produced by the label owner helrad and containing one track and 2 loop based dj tools with dope and atmospheric analog synth sequences. also, three stunning and fantastic remixes produced by some of the best producers in the underground scene. legendary techno veteran and techno maestro steve stoll , who recently produced on nina kravitz ’s golden trip records, delivered a storming and powerful dark, proper techno remix with a tremendous and massive effect on the dance floor arena. stanislav tolkachev ,techno pioneer from ukraine who has recorded on top-notch labels, such as semantica and mord records, handed over an experimental and psychedelic minimalistic dj friendly remix with magnificent modular analog synth sequences which can easily flirt with the crowd’s mind. hans bouffmyhre , sleaze records owner and established artist within the worldwide techno scene deliveres a top class remix with his unmistakable bass drum, in addition to an organic arrangement and epic ethereal pads and chords.

spanish techno artist aiken is back on his own timeline label with another ep that offers up four more of his evocative takes on the genre. it comes after previous outings on non series and semantica and is his label’s first release since 2016. “basic principles” is up first and mesmerises with a pulsing lead synth line that forever changes shape. pummelling drums power along below and add up to a disorientating and hypnotic overall effect. “theory” is deeper and more rubbery, with manic synths and pads all racing along and pilling on the pressure while “midline” is right out fo the jeff mills playbook with its molten sci-fi synths journeying through outer space. clean, crips drums are upright and taught and get you on your toes, then “restriction” closes things out in superb minimalist fashion. this ep covers plenty of ground, and all of it is utterly compelling.

mikkel metal returns to copenhagen’s echocord this may with his new mini lp ‘just enough light’, comprising six originals from the danish artist. copenhagen based producer and dj mikkel metal has been a beacon of light in the danish electronic music scene and further afield for nearly two decades now, with the dub techno imprint from his hometown, echocord, being the predominant home for his output, whilst also releasing material on cologne’s kompakt, tartelet, semantica and avant roots, a telling sign of the quality embodied in his work. here though we see mikkel deliver a mini album concept in the shape of ‘just enough light’ and opener ‘awake’ perfectly sets the tone with emotive, dynamically unfolding atmospherics, tension building bass drones and spiraling dub chords subtly easing us into the project. ‘bregnan’ then stirs in some classing dub-techno tropes with billowing stab sequences, lumpy subs and off beat high hats carrying the hypnotic groove for six and a half minutes. ‘jech’ then strips things back to an almost beatless amalgamation of murky chords and modulating synth whirrs. opening the flip side of the release is ‘include’ which embraces a brighter feel via ethereal pad swells, jazztinged synth melodies and bumpy 909 rhythms before ‘konkin’ edges back into the eerie, brooding aesthetic with bubbling echoes, broken drums and menacing bass swells at its core. ‘restore’ then closes the package on a stripped-back vibe, laying focus on an ever- eveolving singular dub chord to ebb and flow around thunderous subs, kicks and bright hats.

parisian producer brice groulier has built a reputation as one of the new guard of techno artists to watch closely with consistently high quality sub aquatic, rhythm shifting techno for labels like semantica, midgar, planet rhythm, and modularz. while looking for music that integrated with our grey area releases, we found ourselves blending more von grall tunes than any other artist, so a horo release was requested. what originally began as a 4 track ep bloomed into an 8 track debut album that sees von grall expand his style beyond the muscular but hazy rhythmic mist he has become known for. the title track infinitum opens the lp like a contemplative bubble. hyper density and inside are pensive, evocative jogs, while emerald city and disturbance ramp up the energy and will be the most favoured floor tunes from infinitum. antonym allegory combines the von grall rhythmic bounce with an emotive pad that will echo in your mind long after listening. motel closes the lp with a quirky, almost joyful flow. infinitum wanders confidently into new ground for von grall and cements him as a versatile and singular voice in techno.

the second release on oktave records is produced by tokyo’s iori. the multi-talented japanese producer and dj has had his music released on some of the best labels in the business, including prologue, field records, and semantica. iori’s inimitable and distinctive sound has put his productions on turntables and headsets all over the world, while the man himself continues to extend his touring radius, hitting clubs and venues all over europe and into the americas. oktave records is proud to present his circulate ep.

following our first release with opal, which aimed at the dance and the bodies, we wanted with this second ep to reach to people’s mind. as a geneva-based techno label, it was fundamental to work with our local hero: opuswerk. he’s already been working outside of the country with artists like francois x and labels such as arts, semantica or dement3d. it was time we involved him in our project. through this ep, opuswerk clearly shows what he knows and does best. much like his dj sets, he connects dots and layers in unexpected ways, like a rhizome connecting different multiplicities. inspiration for the original tracks came from designing systems of independent yet connected sounds, where events are triggered, un-triggered and alter other events, each behaving on their own. as one of those elements, the artist acts as a guide, directing them from one place to the next acting as and with the machines. the -mot d’ordre- is about becoming one of the machines, blending techniques with vibes and catching them like ever escaping dreams. the result is two uniquely sounding spaces, either filled with raw energy like on extensum or with subtle and serene ever-evolving bleeps on spatium. those two extremes are fitting to how we want present the multiple dimensions of our artists works to the world. the same logic went into choosing the remixers, with whom opuswerk had a human connection with. inland and antigone need no introductions, having both established their sound on labels like countercharge or token. each brought their own re-interpretations of the original tracks bringing them closer to the dancefloors.

behind the sstrom moniker hides one half of shxcxchcxsh and a long-time activist of sweden s experimental techno scene. having fallen in love with simple melodies and catchy arpeggios when being a member of bitpop/synth band slagsmalsklubben, he transferred these sensibilities further into his other projects. sstrom s excellent 2016 debut for semantica records was an excellent exercise in lush aquatic techno with breezy and lush atmospheres. the new ep -vitriol- is informed by the personal experience of the producer, which adds additional warmth and emotional weight to the record. the release brings back memories of earth pigments his father used when painting things in their house, the colours created were usually dark toned with some pastel lightness. this juxtaposition is felt throughout the record, which balances between cinematic futurist moods, steel-wool smoothness and subtle physicality due to its textured nature. the title track kicks-off with detroitish synth loops wrapped in dense lo-fi soundscapes, while -sienna- increases the tension by introducing more expansive melodic appeal intertwined with intensity of feather-like 4/4 rhythmics. -umbra- brings some shadowy sonic undertones immersed into a sea of crackle with melodies constantly resurfacing. the closing -ockra- bursts with more groovy patterns, yet retaining the same elegant warmth, which seems to be the signature element of this ep. while listening to all these tracks you feel like touching some alien surfaces with utmost sensitiveness with surreal landscapes stretching out in your imagination. this is carefully crafted introvert music, yet having some elegant dancefloor appeal.

italian label spazio disponibile continues its fine run of form with a new ep that features four collaborative tracks by the bosses voices from the lake (aka donato dozzy and neel) versus semantica boss svreca. the ep is a result of their first studio session all together in rome. all three have been perfecting cinematic ambient techno for years now and have the cerebral, atmospheric aesthetic down to a tee. here they offer up proof across a series of hypnotic tracks that take you deep into your own mind. it s alien and abstract yet wholly consuming and will zone you out in no time.

swiss dj-producer honorée debuts on rekids with two intricate numbers featuring swedish producer evigt mörker. a key component in switzerland’s thriving electronic music scene, honorée is an accomplished dj and no stranger to playing alongside the upper echelons of house and techno. she now demonstrates her production abilities with an excellent inaugural outing on rekids. ‘pearls’ sees deep notes and stuttering percussion join echoing french vocals for a stripped-back exhibition of mesmerising house. feeling integrates sultry chords with syncopated drums whilst a whispering voice ebbs in and out of the mix. evigt mörker, known for appearances on semantica records and konstrukt, then steps up for a rhythmic and ethereal rendition of pearls.

an object resists changing its state of motion with inertia. what pushes back must then be even more vigorous in order to create a uid movement. an example of the force that embodies this dynamic can be found clearly on the appropriately titled inertia, aiken’s much anticipated return to chronicle. the spanish artist has been spending years honing his craft, focusing on sharp, distinct sounds that create a pure sense of kinetic energy. the title track of the ep bolsters a erce disarray of carefully (de)constructed atonal synthwork and a rhythm section that is set to detonate. it is then followed by “axial”, a track that stays as true to modular miscalculations as it does to stripped down techno, combining both in a subliminal cessation of sanity. however aiken isn’t done there. he continues with “magnetism”, which throws a brick in the glass of conventionality with its earth-shaking layers of textured momentum. phased pads then wash over “soul drama”, bringing the entire experience to an emotionally laced denouement. after the potency of his last record on chronicle as well as his releases on imprints such as his own label timeline and the spanish powerhouse semantica, inertia marks a de nitive step forward for an already exceptionally de ned artist.

rote return to bleed for a second ep release on the label, the first of 2016. formed of daniel avery and label-head volte-face as an open-ended side project, the duo tend to adost an esoteric and experimental approach to techno, expressed in this case with 5 diverse original tracks. as solo artists, volte-face has appeared on svrecas semantica imprint as well as releasing 3 solo eps on bleed thus far. daniel avery is a high-profile fixture on club and festival bills, and is soon to be found contributing to the legendary dj kicks series. ep2 builds on the sound of the duo s debut ep, which was well supported in the underground, and remixed by experimental techno doyens dj nobu and svreca. featuring two heads down eyes closed club tracks, rote 3 and rote 4, two ambient excursions, lifted and sun at night (the latter of which would be equally at home on a psychedelic rock lp!) and a lilting melodic closer, end of the sky

plant43 aka emile facey returns to cpu with his second ep for the sheffield imprint, and brings more of his ultra-refined electro to the table. surgical pads, robotic x0x beats and melodic basslines fuse the tracks into faceys signature science-lab machine funk. facey has been very busy since his last outing on cpu back in 2013, with an lp on shipwrec, and ep s on semantica, ac records and frustrated funk. he is showing no sign of slowing down and weightless in the void pushes his sound even further into the future

after a few digital releases, lunar convoy delivers a masterfully executed debut ep to inaugurate newcomer belgian imprint norite’s vinyl series. counting northern electronics, hypnus records, semantica and prologue among his main influences, lunar convoy’s first effort is utterly coherent while not failing to evoke a plurality of emotions. imbued with sacred atmospheres, infiltrated with mysticism, ritualistic melodies and aesthetically charged rhythms, outer rim territories is a testimony of his love for deeper realms. on the a side, seswenna’s trancey lead synth and pumping bass opens the ep with an excursion towards distant planets. ryloth ventures into darker fields, scattered with whirring and saturated analog complains and haunted by ancient voices. on the flip side, eriadu sets a more mystical pace with syncopated kicks and floating eerie pad, to embark on a parallel dimension. allen’s take on ryloth is symptomatic of the us-based producer, speeding things up and offering a stripped down version filled with devastating hi-hats and firing toms to end this solid 4-tracker with the hypnotic-yet-effective sound that got him signed on attic music, m_rec ltd, polegroup or more recently granulart recordings. with such a captivating release, lunar convoy has set a high bar for the upcoming releases and left us under his sway.

rhythm büro is a new record label based out of kiev, ukraine started by dj and promoter igor glushko. the büro first began as a local party series organised by igor, alexander pavlenko (aka na nich, widely known in the drum’n’bass world as sunchase) and vera logdanidi (aka vero). since the party’s beginning in march 2015, rhythm büro has hosted such greats as zadig, abdulla rashim, etapp kyle, eric cloutier, woo york, artefakt, acronym, steve bicknell and actress all at different non-club warehouse-like locations around kiev. a peculiar aspect of the rhythm büro team’s objective has been to maintain secrecy about the exact location of the party until a day prior to the event, when ticket buyers are then informed about the location via text message or email. the label was started to be the logical and progressive extension to what rhythm büro has established itself to be locally: one of ukraine’s prominent techno initiatives. for the first release of the label, na nich and vero have contributed two joint-produced tracks that are to become their first publicly available material under their current aliases. while a1 leans itself to the soundscape that is more or less typical for rhythm büro parties: trippy, hypnotic and transportive techno, a2 hits the floor with refreshing zeal, bringing an electro-esque break-beat under deep and emotive synth layers. the b side contains two remixes of the title track, one of which is thoroughly tailored by the dutch-born-berlin-based-duo, artefakt (mostly known for their releases on delsin, prologue and field) as well as a strong and heady remix by semantica records’ mastermind, svreca.

monoton ‘monotonprodukt 02’, also known as mp02, is the debut album of austrian electronic maverick konrad becker. out in 1980 it was a precursor of the minimal techno dub sound that was starting to be popular more than 15 years after. the album has been reissued by desire a couple of years ago and a new pressing is in the work. anyway it’s time to launch a remix ep with new (and not so new) producers giving crédit to the work of the austrian master. on the a side we find 3 new artists paying their dues : sergie rezza, whose debut album out on desire was critically acclaimed, abdulla rashim (abdulla rashim records / northern electronics / semantica) and also opal tapes’ boss stephen bishop own basic house. the b-side is a great megamix of the album tracks by the one and only ambient/electronica veteran scanner !

... well, solo for the opening track. -a liquid state- is a mellow, melting piece of marshy machine music. warmth flows as clicks and clacks orbit a soft and soothing syntheline in a track that epitomises the term ambient techno. acronym, of northern electronics and semantica fame, takes over the controls for the flip. percussion is folded and refolded, layered into itself into a hypnotic haze. behind these blurred beats a burbling bass bulges as gentle key strokes scatter for a remix brimming with textures and intensity.

after a couple of essential releases under the pseudonym “epiphany” in labels such as ahd or semantica, damian schwartz is back with his second full length album. an incredible piece of work highly influenced by detroit and ny’s house and techno sound.

greg schappert (aka donor) is a dj/producer based out of brooklyn, ny. having lived in cities such as barcelona, madrid, tokyo and brooklyn, where he currently resides, greg has acquired quite a few musical in&#64258,uences. however, it was the mid to late 90’s sounds of cities such as birmingham and detroit that laid the foundation for what originally sparked greg’s interest in electronic music and for what would later in&#64258,uence his production. as a solo artist, greg is currently working along side some of the industries most in&#64258,uential labels, including stroboscopic artefacts, semantica records, perc trax and prosthetic pressings

(2lp + dl code) spanish producer miguel sar has been a purveyor of tough, no-nonsense techno for over a decade now, running his own cyclical tracks label as well as appearing on other imprints like token, semantica and psyks non series. sar returns to the latter for chronicles of the future, his second album and first since 2008s contacto.

*drawn with shadow pens* is the new album by antwerp based synthesist and sound-sculptor yves de mey. with previous outings on a slew of renowned labels such as modal analysis, semantica, opal tapes, his own archives intérieures imprint with sendai partner peter van hoesen, and the now defunct sandwell district, *drawn with shadow pens* is the next offering in the y.d.m. codex.

just 6 months after his debut release on the label, weekend circuit invite alderaan back at the helm of techno. alter ego of buenos aires artist franco de michele already revered by some of the industry greats presents statics / golden ratio a manifestation of progressive and dynamic techno, with stanislav tolkachev taking the b side. hailed as one of live technos notorious artists, stanislav makes his first appearance on the london based imprint, presenting an abstract take of ever intense, rolling techno for the remixes. with previous releases on the likes of semantica & m rec ltd, tolkachev, originally from ukraine comes as no newbie.

bleed enter their stride, with a third release of the year, following on from volte-face’s ‘charlatan’ ep, and the daniel avery/volte-face collaboration as rote, ‘ep1&#8242,,,,. ‘all grown up’, volte-face’s second ep, ‘all grown up’, comes out shortly before his debut on semantica, with a track featuring on their next nonnative compilation. the ep is primed for club play, with three densely detailed peak-time techno originals, as well as a short ambient interlude and a killer dj spider remix. the record has received early plays from friends of the label, including daniel avery, dj nobu, tripeo, etapp kyle, blind observatory, francois x and ryan james ford.

on007 comes courtesy of shadowy producer cliche morph. hailing from belarus, the young, low-profile artist created some buzz by his stand-out track *overwhelming fear* from last years semantica compilation index. part one. the immaculately produced on007 proves that track wasnt a fluke and solidifies his status as a talent to keep an eye on. the fanon flowers remix is the cherry on top.

after several successful releases on labels like semantica, non series, chronicle and m_rec ltd, aiken has taken a new step in his career with the creation of his own label. with this new project, aiken aims to express his creativity with the combination of different influences.

the third release from budding label odd / even comes from spanish production outfit nx1. the duo first surfaced in 2011 with a release on their eponymous label and quickly established a reputation with releases across labels like semantica, m_rec ltd or their own nx1 label. having appeared on a sensational release from odd / even earlier this year, alongside the persuader, a&s, pär grindvik, and andre kronert, nx1 now take centre stage for the label, combining frenetic percussion with condensed textures to create a four track ep of blistering, febrile techno.outstanding coverprint, shrinked and dj friendly 140g pressing. mastering and cut by cgb at dubplates and mastering.

nice price deal !!! hailing from spain, eduardo de la calle has been a prolific dj and house and techno producer since the early nineties who s productions have recently been featuring heavily in boddikas dj sets. with over 100 vinyl releases under his belt on labels including semantica, cadenza and his own imprints (analog solutions, suprwax, edits records) plus many more, eduardo is an underground legend staying true to his analogue production techniques and never following the pack.

the first release of the new year for delsin records will be the new album from vril. vril debuted on the delsin-label with his excellent vortekz ep early in 2014, which came after releases on his family-label giegling and also semantica in previous years, and was followed up by the torus lp, a double 12inch on giegling affiliate forum. now hes back with his second full length. one day vril sat down in his station and suddenly a portal opened. thru a kind of timehole infinitive moments passed by. luckily he was able to capture a few of those to share with us. the portal closed. nothing was left, no questions. only this lp.
